TGIF!

To kick off this weekend I have a quick swatch spam and review for a beautiful top coat by Darling Diva Polish.

Temporary Insanity is literally everything packed into a topcoat; holographic, color changing sparkly awesomeness! My Swatches are 2 coats of Plum Noir by Orly, followed by 1 coat of Temporary Insanity, followed by 1 coat of Gelous (optional).

I can not even keep up with the color shifting and the different looks this one top coat gives, and is truly one of those polishes you have to own to appreciate!

NOTD - Fancy Schmancy ?

This is one Friday I am not happy for; the winter break is over and it's back to school Monday. But on the bright side the more I go to school, the faster I get out, right?

Today's NOTD is more on the elegant side if I do say so myself. The products I used to accomplish this look are Decades of Dysfunction by Orly, Dark Coffee by Milani, and Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-312. I know they're not stamped perfectly, but I like it and that's all that matters!

If there are any particular images from either the Holiday set, the CYO set, or the 2012 set that you would like to see stamped during this month, feel free to let me know and I will be sure to deliver!

How Will You Remember?

Happy Remembrance & Veterans Day everyone! I'm expressing my respect for those that have fought & died for us and our freedom in one of the best ways I know how; on my nails.Today at school we held a bake sale to raise money to donate to the Veterans Fund, and I thought it would be cute to do a poppy colored gradient to match the colors of a poppy. The colors I used for this manicure are Liquid Vinyl and Grave Mistake by Orly and With Love by China Glaze (Now that I think about it, the names of the red polishes I used in this manicure are kind of ironic and represent today)! Hope you all had an amazing Monday!

Peace & Love,

Born Pretty Store - Square Candy Fluorescent Colors Stud Rhinestones Review

Thank goodness it's Friday! Another productive week has come and gone, and to kick off what I hope will be a relaxing weekend for everyone, I will be doing a stud review from the Born Pretty Store.

I recieved the Square Candy Fluorescent Colors Stud Rhinestones which consists of approximately 260 pastel and neon square studs. Each of these studs are 3mm big. I decided that I would use the pastels while testing this product, along with similar base color polishes. The colors I used to achieve this look are:
*Orly - Blue Collar
*China Glaze - Peachy Keen
*China Glaze - Spontaneous
*Sally Hansen - Mint Sorbet

These studs are the bomb.com! I don't know what it is about these, but they give me a cool retro vibe. I love how much attention was given to these studs, everything down to the neon studs being matte like a real neon should. The studs are easy to pick up and place, & does not get ripped off easily.  Great addition to my nail art items.

The Square Candy Fluorescent Colors Stud Rhinestones currently cost $4.59 with free shipping, but Daisy has provided me with a coupon for you guys to make the deal even sweeter! If you use the code "SKL91" during checkout you will receive an additional 10% off your purchase from the Born Pretty Store for all of your nail art needs.

Darling Diva Polish - Madonna Collection Swatches & Review

I'm still alive, I promise! Sorry for the delay in these posts but when I planned to get them up I was hit with more exam work, and ended up getting sick, so if I wasn't up doing work, I spent all my time sleeping. But I am back now and I will be spamming your blog feed this weekend with awesome polishes :D ! Today I have 4 more beautiful polishes by Darling Diva Polish from the Madonna collection to show you, so lets get started!

First up is Love Don't Live Here named after the song of the same name, and it consists of a chartreuse green leaning gold microglitter and small fuschia hexagonal glitters in a clear base. This polish can be worn alone in 3 thin coats, I decided to layer 1 coat of Love Don't Live Here over 2 coats of Gumdrop by Orly.

Next is True Blue named after the song of the same name, which is a beautiful blue linear holo polish, but I believe I do spot green flecks and other very tiny glitters in it as well! My swatches are 3 coats worn alone, but full coverage can be reached in only 2.

Next up is Material Girl named after the song of the same name, and it consists of large and small hexagonal and circle glitters, and silver holographic square and hexagonal glitters in a pink jelly base. My swatches are 2 coats of Material Girl layered over 1 coat of Two-Hour Lunch by Orly.

Last, but certainly not least is Dress You Up named after the song of the same name, and it is a glitter top coat with over 30 different types of glitter! You can find anything from hearts, flowers, stars, squares, hexagons, and bar glitters in this funkadelic mix! My swatches are 1 coat of Dress You Up layered over 2 coats of Kismet by Color Club.

I know I say this a lot when it comes to Darling Diva Polish's but... ERMAHGERD!!! I love each of these so much, but Dress You Up would definitely be my favorite of the bunch. I love all of the versatile looks you can get from Love Don't Live Here and Dress You Up, how even through the holo in True Blue the green flecks still shine, and the awesome glitter combo in Material Girl. There was no special application needed for any of these polishes, and they dried quickly.

Darling Diva Polishes costs between $9-$14 and can be purchased from her etsy shop found here. You may also purchase her polishes from Llarowe, Mei Mei's Signatures, Norway Nails, Le Doux Nuage, and Edgy Polish. Don't forget to check out her Facebook fanpage found here also for sneak peeks, updates, and deals!

Born Pretty Store - 15pc Nail Art Design Brush Set Review

If you are one of my Facebook fans, last night you would have seen a sneak peek picture of my Spongebob meets the Minions manicure. Today I'm going to show you what tools I got from the Born Pretty Store that made it all possible!

I received the 15pc Nail Art Design Brush Set which consists of:
3 drawing tools
7 painting tools
2 liners
1 dotting tool
2 fan brushes

To create my manicure, I used the dotting tool, lining brush, and a detail brush within this set. The colors I used were Yellow Whiz by Milani, Blue Collar by Orly, and various acrylic paints. Here is the final design I came up with.

At first I just had Spongebob on my ring finger, and the rest of my nails were just plain with blue tips. After staring at my nails for a while I decided "why the heck not" and started drawing minions. These brushes are very easy to work with, have nice soft bristles, and were easy to clean. They are also very affordable compared to other companies who sell nail art brushes. Nail art brushes are an investment in my opinion and are way better than nail art polishes since you receive many types of brushes, and can use whatever colors you have!

The 15pc Nail Art Design Brush Set cost $5.96 with free shipping, but Daisy has provided me with a coupon for you guys to make the deal even sweeter! If you use the code "SKL91" during checkout you will receive an additional 10% off your purchase from the Born Pretty Store for all of your nail art needs.

Born Pretty Store - Stamping Plate m65 Review

Good evening everyone! This week has been pretty hectic school wise, and my niece was born so I've been doing a little less blogging this week, but I'm ready to get back in action! Today I have another product from the Born Pretty Store to share with you guys, and something about this product will either be a hit or a miss for people.

I received the m65 stamping plate which is supposed to be an exact copy of the Konad m65 stamping plate. As all stamping plates do, a blue protective plastic protected the plate from scratches, and can easily be removed with tweezers before use. When I first got the stamp, I immediately noticed how small it was compared to other plates on the market (comparison photo below). I also noticed that there was no protective backing on the plates, making the edges very sharp to the touch.

To test this plate I did a manicure starting off with Prince Charming by Orly as my base, then stamped over it with Nevermore by Cult Nails.

I also tested the rest of the designs out on paper to see how they all work, and here were my results.

Besides the fact that the images are very small compared to most plates, the quality of the designs are pretty good especially for the price. The details in each design are etched fairly well, and the design will be able to cover your nails if they are the same length as my nails currently or shorter. Besides the things listed at the beginning of the post, I have no complaints!

The Stamping Plate m65 cost $2.99 with free shipping, but Daisy has provided me with a coupon for you guys to make the deal even sweeter! If you use the code "SKL91" during checkout you will receive an additional 10% off your purchase from the Born Pretty Store for all of your nail art needs.
