31DC - Day 9: Saran Wrap

I think my day 9 manicure for the 31 day challenge has become my favorite I've done so far! Today's theme was saran wrap manicures. At first I wanted to base the colors of my saran wrap manicure on the two main characters of Monster's Inc, but when I put the blue over the green it changed the color of it (I guess because the green is more on the yellow side)! The colors they changed to reminded me of the floam nail polish!

The colors I used for this manicure are Pure Ice Wild Thing and Blue Me Away by Sally Hansen. There are plenty tutorials on Youtube for how to do this if you would like to recreate this look or pick your own colors if you'd like!

31DC - Day 8: Duochrome, Flakie, or Holo

Today's theme for the 31 day challenge is duochrome, flakie, or holo. Since I included holo in yesterday's challenge, I decided to do a flakie instead. The base color of my manicure is Rumors by Pure Ice, and on top is one coat of Snowflakes by Color Club. The beauty of this manicure was so hard to capture, but believe me it is 10x more beautiful than it looks in photos.

Shaded - So much more beautiful!

31DC - Day 7: Ombre or Skittle

It's Monday and I'm back at school, no bueno! I'm already so tired after just 1 day, but I just had to get this post up on time. Today's theme was an ombre or skittle manicure. I chose to do a skittle manicure because I like looking at lots of different pretty colors, and I am obsessed with the candy by the same name. The polishes I used are With Love by China Glaze, NYC's Lexington Yellow, High Line Green, and Spring Street all topped off with Dreamy by Darling Diva polish and one coat of my Gelous top coat.

31DC - Day 6: Favorite Color Family

It's now day 6 of the challenge, and today's theme is to pick your favorite color family. My favorite color is purple if you haven't noticed by my blog layout, but so was yesterday's theme so I was hesitant to do 2 purple manicures in a row... but I did it anyways! My base color is Happy Fame-ily by NOPI, and I attempted to draw leopard designs in various shades of purple acrylic paint.

31DC - Day 5: Purple

Just a quick post showing you my nails from yesterday's theme which was purple. My base color is Lavender Highlight by Finger Paints, and to jazz up my nails I added some light purple glequins from the born pretty store.

31DC - Day 4: Pink

Day 4 of the 31 Day Challenge and today's theme is pink. I personally wanted to hold back on any pink manicures until February for Valentines Day but oh well. I did a pink tape manicure using Tip Toe Pink and Fast Fuchsia by Milani. I LOVE this look so much and will be definitely including it in a V-Day post I plan on doing in the future.

Puttin' On the Glitz

Sorry for the late post guys! I ended up taking HUNDREDS of photos for this review, and it ended up taking me way longer than expected to choose photos and crop and watermark them. I believe it's well worth the wait though, because these polishes are gorgeous!

The Puttin' On the Glitz gift pack by China Glaze consists of 3 polishes from their Holiday Joy collection. The 3 polishes in the pack are (from left to right):
-With Love
-Pizzazz
-Cranberry Splash
With Love is a bright orange-red creme polish. Below is 2 coats of With Love on it's own. I was able to get it opaque in one coat which I was extremely surprised by, but I did 2 coats as a personal preference.

Pizzazz is multicolored glitter in a clear base. At first I believed this may be a dupe for the very popular Rainbow Connection by OPI, but the size of the glitters in Pizzazz is much smaller which gives it a completely different look. My bottle was stuck shut, and when I finally got it open about a quarter of the suspension base was dried out and the polish was really thick. I added a bunch of nail polish thinner to it, and everything was fine. Below is 3 coats on its own, and one coat over With Love and Cranberry Splash.

Cranberry Splash is a beautiful ruby red shimmer polish. I was also able to get this polish opaque in one coat, but again I used 2 coats because it is my personal preference.

I have stated this time and time again, I HATE red polishes (even though most of my collection is red oddly enough) because of the stains that come along with them. BUT after trying these two I think I might have to change my views on red polishes. Cranberry Splash especially took my breath away because of the shine and ease of application. I also think it looks fabulous with my skintone which is always a plus! The two reds in this gift pack are classy yet sexy, and Pizzazz is the perfect polish to take your nails from classy to party. These dried fairly quickly and remained shiny even without a top coat. Two thumbs up for China Glaze creating the perfect complementing polishes!
