Around and Around

Thank goodness it's Friday! To kick off this weekend, I have today's Bundle Monster Stamping Month post!

I loved my manicure with Happy Wife Happy Life by Darling Diva Polish which I reviewed here, and I thought it would look really cool as a base color for stamping. So I grabbed BM-422 from the Bundle Monster Create Your Own stamping plate set, and my bottle of Silver Stilettos by Milani and this happened...

 Have a safe weekend everyone!

Sally Hansen Trendy Spring 2014 Insta-Dri Polishes Swatches & Review

Today on the blog I have two trendy Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes for Spring 2014! I will be showcasing 2 of the 8 recommended polishes for the rapidly approaching spring, as well as showing off my Bundle Monster Stamping Month manicure for today! The two colors I received Jade Jump and Go For Gold.

Jade Jump is a mint green creme polish. My swatches are two coats worn alone.

Go For Gold is a gold foil polish. My swatches are one coat worn alone.

I then stamped over Go For Gold with White On The Spot by Milani, using plate BM-H03.

Overall I really like the quality of these polishes, great as a base color and for stamping! These polishes did not streak for me, and dried pretty quickly in comparison to regular polishes. These colors may not be original, but I'd definitely buy more from this line just because of how good the quality is for the price.

Jade Jump If you wish to purchase the Insta-Dri polishes seen here or any others from the Insta-Dri line, these polishes are currently available nationwide  at a price of $4.95 each.

I Blame Impatience!

If you follow me on my Facebook Page, you would know that I didn't post this weekend because it was the weekend of my niece's Christening. I'm still continuing with my Bundle Monster stamping month, which I even continued with my Christening manicure. I think this manicure would have been amazing... If  not for my impatience! I was in an absolute rush so I slapped on my base color quickly, tried to apply gel top coat over regular nail polish (I was desperate at this point), and stamped my nails when they were not completely dry. The images stamped perfectly actually, but some how the base color only got smudged! It's not completely horrible, but definitely not up to my usual standards! If I had the time, I would redo my manicure without a doubt.

The products I used are When Doves Cry by Darling Diva Polish, Signature Gold by Milani, and Bundle Monster plates BM-310 and BM-322 from the 2012 stamping plate set.

NOTD - Fancy Schmancy ?

This is one Friday I am not happy for; the winter break is over and it's back to school Monday. But on the bright side the more I go to school, the faster I get out, right?

Today's NOTD is more on the elegant side if I do say so myself. The products I used to accomplish this look are Decades of Dysfunction by Orly, Dark Coffee by Milani, and Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-312. I know they're not stamped perfectly, but I like it and that's all that matters!

If there are any particular images from either the Holiday set, the CYO set, or the 2012 set that you would like to see stamped during this month, feel free to let me know and I will be sure to deliver!

NOTD - SomeTHING Different? Jelly Sandwich Nails

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! I wanted to share what is currently on my nails with you guys because I think it's very cute!

Although this manicure may seem obnoxiously bright and absurd during this time of year in certain people's opinions, I don't give a rat's patootie because I like it and that's all that matters haha! The polishes I used to accomplish this look is 2 coats of Awesome Orange by Milani, followed by one coat of Thing by CrowsToes, followed by another 2 coats of Awesome Orange.

I'm pretty sure this is my first time doing a jelly sandwich, and I love the concept! I also can't believe I've had my bottle of Thing for over a year and this is my first time using it in a full manicure, boy have I been missing out! This polish is the ULTIMATE glitterbomb and has quickly become one of my favorite polishes in my entire collection.

Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Nails?

So this weekend I hit up Sally's to pick up a big ol' bottle of nail polish remover and some top coat, but I still had $5.00 to make up before I hit the $20.00 mark to use the coupon, so I was able to pick up a polish (yay)! After struggling for a good 10 minutes, I finally chose ONE polish, and that polish is Colorful Collage by Finger Paints.

Colorful Collage is packed with multiple sizes of silver holographic hexagonal glitters in a clear base.

That same night I removed my old manicure and this baby went right onto my nails! The base color I used for this manicure is two coats of U Pink Swear by Milani, I then applied one coat of Colorful Collage.

I loved this manicure, but it felt like something was missing... I just didn't know what at the time. So a day after applying this manicure I whipped out my nail foil and added some to the tips of my nails. The nail foil glue brush applied the glue streaky, which I actually like because it gives the foil a cool look when applied. The more I looked at my nails after I was finishes, the more I was reminded of the pink Power Ranger. Am I the only one that thinks so? I don't know...

Milani - Totally Cool Swatches

Happy humpday! Today on the blog I have some swatches of this AMAZEBALLZ polish called Totally Cool by Milani. I don't know if this polish is still being made by Milani (as I can't find it in Canada), but if you ever spot it you will definitely want to get your hands on this polish!

Totally Cool is a bright royal purple leaning blue with shimmers that shift from a reddish-pink, to bronze. My swatches are 3 coats worn alone.

This polish has made my love affair with the color purple stronger than ever <3 ! Everything about this polish & its quality is faaaaabulous! In the first two coats this polish gives a jelly like look, but in 3-4 coats (depending on how you apply your polish) it should be completely opaque. Strongly recommend you add this polish to your collection if you don't already have it.

Born Pretty Store - Spongebob Squarepants Water Decals Review

Are you ready kids?!? "Aye Aye Captain!". I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! "AYE AYE CAPTAIN!!!!!"
Ohhhhhhhhhhh...
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea ?!?!?! SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!! Bahahaha I couldn't resist! Today (As you can tell by the title of this post, and my intro little intro ahaha) I have some cute Spongebob Squarepants Water Decals Born Pretty Store to show you.

These water decals come with 20 wacky Spongebob faces (Good enough for 2 manicures if you want a face on each nail, but is plenty if you just use one as an accent). The base color for my manicure is 2 coats of Yellow Whiz by Milani. I then cut out the two designs I wanted to use, then applied them using the basic procedure. I did not use a topcoat, but you can if you want to.

There's really not much to say, there's no going wrong with Spongebob! I like how well these decals blended with the polish so it didn't look like I had a sticker on my nails. One thing that I will say though is that if you are a person with long nails these decals may look a bit awkward because they are small, but if you have a polish similar to the color of the spots, you should be able to add a few more and be good to go!

The Spongebob Squarepants Water Decals currently cost $0.99 (Originally $2.86 I believe, awesome deal!!)  with free shipping, but Daisy has provided me with a coupon for you guys to make the deal even sweeter! If you use the code "SKL91" during checkout you will receive an additional 10% off your purchase from the Born Pretty Store for all of your nail art needs.

Don't forget to stay in touch with the Born Pretty Store for more deals and updates!

Darling Diva Polish - Random Swatch Spam

Can't believe it's already August where does the time go?! Today is my last post before I leave for vacation (Don't worry, I have some great guest posts lined up to hold you until I'm back) & I thought I should show these 5 amazing Darling Diva Polishes that I've had patiently waiting on myself for way too long!

First up is Holiday (please excuse my HORRIBLE cuticles on this one) from the Madonna inspired collection. It consists of multiple sizes of rainbow circle glitters in a clear base. My swatches are 1 coat of Holiday worn over 2 coats of Silver Stilettos by Milani. This glitter topper SCREAMS party, and would look amazing over practically any color!

Next is BzzBzz which consists of silver holographic circle glitters, 2 sizes of black circle glitters, and a golden shimmer and a slightly tinted base. My swatches are 1 coat of BzzBzz worn over 2 coats of High Line Green by NYC. The shimmer in this polish is absolutely beautiful, this is one type of "Bzz" I wouldn't mind having by my side :D.
Next we have Pretender which is also from the Madonna inspired collection and it is a thermal crelly polish along with pink circle glitters. When cold the polish will turn into a pretty periwinkle shade, and when warm it will become white. My swatches are 2 coats worn alone. I guess it was hotter than even I knew in the GTA because ever time I tried to capture the periwinkle shade (which requires cold) my body temperature shot back up before I could even capture a photo!

Next we have Shake Your Pom Poms. Some have you may be thinking to yourself "Hey hasn't this polish obsessed woman already shown us this polish??? Is she off her rocker?!", but I guarntee you I haven't. However this polish is SIMILAR to Call the Doctor which I reviewed here, with the main difference being that Shake Your Pom Poms does not have the black circle glitter, or tiny silver holographic glitters, but has a beautiful pink to blue shimmer within it. My swatches are 1 coat of Shake Your Pom Poms over 2 coats of Lavender Highlight by Finger Paints. I don't know where Carrie finds these amazing shimmers, but she better keep em coming!
And Lastly we have Bad Girl which is the last Madonna inspired polish I have to show you. It is a beautiful color shifting polish that can go from deep violet, to purple, to blue, to turquoise, to green, and to an olive color. My swatches are 1 coat of Bad Girl worn over 1 coat of Black by Kleancolor. Love it!

Now you guys don't go having too much fun while I'm gone, I hope you all have a fantastic week & I'll be back soon!

Darling Diva Polishes costs between $9-$14 and can be purchased from her etsy shop found here. You may also purchase her polishes from Llarowe, Mei Mei's Signatures, Norway Nails, Le Doux Nuage, and Edgy Polish. Don't forget to check out her Facebook fanpage (which she is currently having a giveaway on *hint hint*) found here also for sneak peeks, updates, and deals!
