Born Pretty Store - Natural White Half Nail Tips & Nail Cutter Review

Today I have 2 products that go hand in hand (or nail and nail) from the Born Pretty Store that I would like to show you guys!

Now as you know I'm a natural nail kinda gal, but right before prom I had a horrible break and really wanted some long nails for the big day! So what's the solution? Nail enhancements of course! I RARELY use nail enhancements (I've probably only used them 3 to 4 times in my life), but I thought it would be worth it for prom.

I first started out by finding out which size from 1 to 10 would be a fit for each finger. After I found each size, I glued the tips on using glue I purchased from my local Sally Beauty Supply.

Now, there was no way I was going out looking like LaRhonda (Kudos if you get the Family Guy reference), so I used the nail cutters to make them a length I found appropriate.

After that I used my personal gel kit and added the finishing touches & voila!

I kept my enhancements on for about 2 weeks, and the nails on there own were pretty strong. I like how they are numbered on the very end of the tips in case you mix it up while doing your nails. However, one thing I did not like is how it stood out on against the natural nail, but that may just be my own fault. I personally wish the bottoms were curved to give a more natural look, but that doesn't really concern anyone who polishes over it anyways.

As for the clippers, they cut the nail tips extremely well, but you have to be really careful to make sure that it is lined up straight and not on a weird angle when cutting.

The Natural White Half Nail Tips currently cost $5.29 & the Nail Cutter costs $3.76 with free shipping, but Daisy has provided me with a coupon for you guys to make the deal even sweeter! If you use the code "SKL91" during checkout you will receive an additional 10% off your purchase from the Born Pretty Store for all of your nail art needs.

Muse is a "blue raspberry color with a subtle vein of gold" in a jelly base. My swatches are one coat of Muse over 2 coats of Ling.

Alma is a "warm golden peach color" in a jelly base. My swatches are one coat of Alma layered over 2 coats of Wendy.

Let me just start off by saying I LOVE the color that I got by layering Alma over a pink shade, and will definitely try layering these polishes over other colors to see what the final product will be. I love the shimmer in each of these polishes; it really makes your nails pop without being too over the top. I can't wait to see what these look like on their own!

The Bubbly collection can be purchased for $54, or $9 each from www.zoya.com. Or if you are in any other country outside of the US, you can purchase Zoya polishes from www.nailpolishcanada.com.

Rosa Hair Products - Brazilian Virgin Curly Hair UPDATE

A lot has changed with this hair since it was last seen! No I have not been wearing this hair since my first review, but I have re-installed and re-vamped this hair since! For all the specs and my original thoughts on this hair, go to my first post about this hair found here

I took down my first install during mid August and had senegalese twists installed until late June, but I knew I still wanted to use this hair to achieve my prom hair look. In order to do so I used:
  • 2 packs of the Salon Care Blue Flash powder
  • 2 packs of the Kaleidocolors Blue tonal powder
  • 30 volume developer
  • A mixing bowl and brush for product distribution
  • Tin foil
If you guys want to see how I accomplished this ombre, check out this really easy tutorial by AllThingsFabulous101 on Youtube that I followed. Here is what my bundles looked like after I was finished (and please excuse the blurriness).

Instead of doing a sew in like I usually would, I decided to make a u-part wig (following Ivy's tutorial found here) in order to give my natural hair a break. After I got it installed (by my wonderful mother), I could instantly tell that the natural curl pattern had dropped very slightly from what it used to be; and I expected that with all of the processing that I put it through. Here is the hair in it's natural state.

The day after I got my hair installed it was my prom, so I straightened and slightly curled my hair using my KQC Red Devil straightening iron from Flat Iron Experts.

The next day (after an amazing night of dancing like crazy) the curls had dropped so the hair was relatively straight. This is the only time my hair was ever "straight" during this install, so I thought I'd let you guys see what the hair looked like in this state.

For the rest of the time I had this hair installed, my hair was styled using my flexi rods and White Sands hairspray that I got from Flat Iron Experts. Some days I wore the curls tight, others I wore it loose.

Prior to fixing leave-out

The ends of the hair did get a little bit dry after the coloring process, but a slight trim and a touch of oil helped that tremendously. This was my first time EVER with hair that wasn't black, and I'd like to think colored hair can actually look good with my skin tone if I do say so myself! I think I'm in love with this hair more than ever, and am glad I had such a great first experience on Aliexpress and hope this luck continues! Special Thank You to Miss Rosa for selling such wonderful products, and I look forward to purchasing from this company again.

Pictures from Polish Past: Sally Hansen - Strawberry Shields Swatches & Review

Have you ever found an old memory card and found pictures that you forgot were even taken? Well, I did. And there are a LOT of posts headed your way from months ago that never made it to the blog; until now.

Today we're gonna start with a beautiful fuchsia glitter topcoat from Sally Hansen that is here to please! This polish goes by the name of Strawberry Shields, and was released towards the end of 2013. My swatches are one coat of Strawberry Shields over two coats of This Blue Is So You! by Nicole by OPI.

I absolutely LOVE how bold this topcoat looked over a darker colour, and I know it will look great over lighter colours as well. The glitter payoff is just perfect; not too little, and not too much. All the glitter laid flat and the dry time was not long at all. Overall I would recommend it if you can manage to get your hands on it.
