May Glitter Guilty Pleasures Box Review

Hello everyone, hope all of you mothers out there had an amazing Mother's Day this past Sunday! Today I have a new to me indie brand subscription box called the Glitter Guilty Pleasures Box to show you guys that I think you will enjoy, so stay tuned.

The Glitter Guilty Pleasures Box includes a full size “Monthly Me” polish which is a polish made specifically for you based on the information you submit during the registry process. When signing up you can let it be known what polish finishes and colors you like and dislike so you are sure to get a polish you will love. The box will also include a “Monthly Mini” which is a mini sized polish that goes out to everyone that is subscribed. You will also receive 1-2 guilty pleasures in your box each month, usually artisan chocolates in the cooler months, or in the warmer months you will get a non-melting treat.

This is what my subscription box looked like when I first opened it. I love how custom polish comes wrapped up in paper to look like a piece of candy, so when you open it up you get a sweet surprise ;) (See what I did there?!? :p ).

Here is the box after I unwrapped my sweet surprise! The names of my polishes are Slightly Psychological (the full size) and Party Hearty (the mini). The chocolate I received was milk chocolate with a hint of sea salt. I'm usually extremely picky when it comes to what I eat, but I actually really enjoyed the taste of it! The salt is not overpowering and balances with the sweetness of the chocolate. On to the polish!

This is Slightly Psychological which consists of neon pink and reddish-orange hexagonal glitters, reddish-orange shredded glitter, and tiny white square glitters in a purple jelly base. My swatches are 2 coats worn alone.

This is Party Hearty which consists of a bunch of neon glitters of different shapes and sizes, and tiny holographic glitters in a clear base. This polish is meant for layering, and after narrowing down my base color options I finally decided to layer it over another neon! My swatches are 2 coats of Party Hearty layered over 2 coats of Orange Punch by Orly.

I LOVE  the two polishes I got! Party Hearty stole my heart at first glance with all that neon goodness, but I must admit I underestimated Slightly Psychological. The color combination is not one I would have ever imagined but it looks great, and I love the jelly finish. I think the Glitter Guilty Pleasures Box is an amazing deal, especially because of the quality of the polishes! Most full sized indie polishes retail for $8-$14 each BEFORE shipping , with custom polishes costing a bit more than that. But for $15.99 you get a one of a kind polish, a beautiful mini polish, and delicious treats. I would definitely recommend!

The regular subscription is $15.99/month which includes shipping (Unless you live outside the US, contact her for more info because you too can subscribe!), but you also have the option of choosing the length of your subscription whether it be month-to-month, three months, or six months, and you may cancel whenever you like. Retro Nails Tutorial

Hello my loves <3 ! Recently I created this manicure that kind of gave me a retro kinda vibe and I absolutely love it and hope you will too. I took pictures of most steps as I went along with the hopes that my idea would come to life and it did, so I'll be sharing how I did it for those of you that would like to recreate this look!

Here are the items I used to create this look:

• China Glaze - For Audrey
• China Glaze - Spontaneous
• China Glaze - Secret Peri-wink-le
• Orly - Au Champagne 
• Saran Wrap
• D191 Black Water Decal (From the Born Pretty Store)
• Top coat (not pictured)

Step 1 - Paint your nails the base color of your choice. I used Au Champagne by Orly as my base color, but you can use whatever color you would like and wouldn't mind showing in your design. Let your nails completely dry.

Step 2 - Select 2 or more colors of your choice. I chose For Audrey, Spontaneous, and Secret Peri-wink-le by China Glaze for a nice and easy blue to purple blend of colors. Using the brushes of the polish (or a dotting tool if you would like), dab the polishes you selected on the nail, leaving none of your base color showing (I recommend doing this step one nail at a time). Take your saran wrap and lightly press on the painted nail.

When you finish this step, it should like this prior to clean up:

And should look something like this after being cleaned up & top coated to assist with blending:

Allow your nails to dry completely.

Step 3 - Apply your water decal of choice, clean up any excess, and then top coat your design! And you're done!

Born Pretty Store - Luxury Embossed Texture Metal Style 3D Golden Nail Art Sticker Review

Good afternoon everyone, it is a beautiful day in the GTA and a beautiful day for a review! Today I have the Luxury Embossed Texture Metal Style 3D Golden Nail Art Sticker from the Born Pretty Store to show you guys. There are 3 different sets of designs available for these nail art stickers, but the one I chose is #1.

I tested the swirly design that comes in this set because they are what caught my eye. The base for this manicure is 2 coats of Cosmic Fate by Color Club worn alone.

I am SO disappointed in these nail stickers! No matter what I tried(i.e. Holding them down for minutes at a time, top coating it to death, and nail glue) these would NOT lay flat at all. These lift so badly to the point that they fall off with the lightest touch. It's such a shame because these are truly beautiful and had high hopes for these. Will I be using these ever again? Probably not. But if they redesign these nail art stickers so that they actually STICK I would actually purchase them.

Have you been living under a rock?

If you haven't heard of this indie brand called Nail Nation 3000 then you have really been missing out on some really amazing polishes! I'm sure that people that have heard of this brand will agree that this brand is famous for their holographic polishes, but they do create other types of polishes and nail treatments to suit everyone's needs.

This polish is called Glow Worm and it is a bright neon lime holographic polish with 3x the holo! 2-3 coats worn alone are recommended for best results. The holo in this polish is visible in all lighting situations, but as all holos will look best in the sunlight. This color is gorgeous and is perfect for the summer.
