Firstly we would like to thank Leticia for giving us this opportunity to share our blog with all of you, her lovely readers! My sister and I run Streets Ahead Style where we blog mostly about nail polish and make up. We hope you enjoy our guest post!
This manicure is our take on the galaxy manicure that has captivated so many of us polish and nail art lovers. Our inspiration comes from the uniform we would imagine a galactic space commander would wear – kind of like the uniforms worn in Tommorrowland at Disney World (we also love Disney). We love the combination of blue, silver, and black with some holographic polish for an even greater galaxy-like feel.
The polishes we used for this mani are: Orly Androgynie, China Glaze Blue Bells Ring, Lynnderella When the Moon Was A Star, Color Club Harp On It (picture above, from L to R).
For the accent nails, we painted a base of Androgynie then taped off a triangle painted with Harp On It; once that dried, we taped off another triangle and painted it with Blue Bells Ring. To create greater definition we added black striping tape as a border around the triangles.
For the other nails, we simply dabbed on one coat of When the Moon Was A Star over Androgynie. This polish is packed with tiny moons, stars and hexes. It’s like a galaxy in a bottle. The glitter lies very flat and we only needed 1 coat of topcoat to smooth everything out (we used Seche Vite).
